The Australian Government has determined that the Captains Mountain Wind Farm is a ‘controlled action’ under the Environment Protection and Biodiversity Conservation (EPBC) Act.
This means the project will undergo a formal environmental assessment process, including the preparation of a Public Environment Report (PER).
Draft guidelines for the PER have now been issued, with the public comment period open until 24 June 2025.
These guidelines will shape the content and scope of the PER, which will provide a comprehensive assessment of the project’s potential environmental impacts.
We encourage community members, landholders, and other interested stakeholders to review the draft guidelines and provide feedback to help ensure the PER reflects local values, priorities, and concerns.
